Really looking for an outside perspective
2020.09.23 19:17 Scaredy-ChadReally looking for an outside perspective
Hey everyone, I’ve been having a serious gender crisis since Christmas of last year and I’m super confused and desperately want an outside perspective to put my thoughts. Around Christmas I came across the transition channel and it made me really consider that I am truly transgender. It makes so much sense when I look back on my life and consider how I feel right now. My earliest trans memory is when I was 5 and my parents painting my nails with a clear coat thing to make me stop biting my nails and I loved the look. When I was seven, Sk8erboi by Avril Lavigne came out and I tried to switch some other lyrics to be “I was a sk8er boi” instead of “I was a sk8er girl” and it felt totally wrong and foreign to say I was a boy instead of a girl. I just decided its cuz the real lyrics just sounded better. From 7-10 I absolutely adored Britney and Jamie spears and Jessica Simpson. Not in a lustful way, more like they are so cool and the best and perfect! Idk lol It was also this age I got bitter id have to be a father when I grew up. I really wanted to be a mom and thought moms were the best and had the best life. In general too I also thought being a girl was better than being a boy and would make my life betteeasier. I also had long hair at this age and I loved it and hated short hair but my grandpa said I looked like a girl and my parents made me cut it and keep it short since. Around 10 I found a penthouse letters in my house and it had a gay story in that really made me feel weird. I asked my dad what gay meant and he told me gay people are men who want to be woman and should be shot (ughh hello lesbians and everything else wrong with this). Also, with the threat he’d take either of his kids out to do this if they were gay. I think this was the start of my repression. My family is super bigoted and this was the start of his indoctrination for me in relation to those views; it took me 10+ years to break out of it and learn what he would call “snowflake” beliefs. At 12 I started to get really jealous of the girls wearing booty shorts around school. This was the first time I dressed as a girl when I came home and stole some of my mom’s short shorts and panties from the 80s(still feel bad but over 10 years later she still hasn’t touched any of those clothes). It made me feel so happy and true; but also turned on. After this I would periodically dress up but I never went farther or told anyone or anything. From 12-14 I had a homeroom with groups and when I was 12/13 there was a trans girl at our table. I still had no idea what that was and thought he was gay and like to dress like a woman. She was treated terribly. Made me really scared to ever even give my feelings any light of the day. It was also around this age I started to develop what I call “vagina envy.” I was jealous that girls didn’t have anything in the way and got longer, better, and multiple orgasms. I really wanted a vagina. I didn’t hate my dick(still don’t) but I really wanted a vagina and would trade if I could. Additionally, (NSFW) I started to masturbate around 13. A few of my fantasies were M4M but the majority (95%+) were about lesbians. And I found that I was spending the majority of my fantasy focusing on what they were wearing instead of them. This lasted from 13-15 or so, then I started to imagine myself as the girl from 15-18. This was the age I tried makeup and accidentally went to school with some mascara on. I didn’t realize for a long time but all the girls knew lol (cute eyelashes, ur eyes are really pretty, did u do something new to ur eyes?). One girl even called me an egg(wish I knew what that meant back then!!!!!!). Probably didn’t help that at a party I made out with her best friend and thought my dick was gross and nobody would like it cuz I don’t really so I tucked without even knowing about tucking lol we dry humped so she knew. At 16 I went clothes shopping with my mom(one of the only times, id usually just let her get what she wanted cuz I didn’t care) and was looking for a certain style of sweat pants and I didn’t find any I liked til I came across this yellow pair. I really liked them and the look and got them. Did not notice they had no pockets so when I got to school I was informed theyre girl sweats and I was just like idc they look good and I like the colour lol (I was a football player so no one really questioned me). At 18 I stumbled upon sissy porn and figured I just had a fetish(upside tho, I finally came into contact with some transgender material, not the sissy stuff but searching through it sometimes you would find a trans blog or something). Eventually though I did a shrooms trip (around 19) and confronted some of my feelings. I decided I was trans and wanted to be woman but that it would hurt my family too much and it was selfish to do it. I decided I couldn’t be happy without transition or without family, both of which were impossible together. Therefore, I decided to live my life for them; to be the version of me that would make them the most happy. I still fantasized and relied on sissy porn, but eventually I convinced myself it was a fetish and I needed to quit in order to be normal again so I stopped and forced myself if I had to masturbate to imagine straight scenarios with from the guy’s perspective. This lasted for a few years til I gave in again last year and it felt so right. But something changed; now I was imagining being a fully transitioned woman with none of the sissy elements, purely a w4m or w4w. And it felt so good. Additionally, around this time I got into the best shape I had ever been in (6’2 225lbs 10% bodyfat, I know humble brag lol) and still hated my body (always had). So I decided to get bigger and that made me feel worse. My shoulders were literally making me sick to my stomach. So for the first time ever I let myself explore these feelings and try to connect to some non-sexual lgbt spaces online. This led me to the transition channel. That channel made me realize I probably am trans and its not selfish to want to embrace it. A comment on their video led me to egg_irl. egg_irl put all my feelings into words and showed me I’m not alone. The trans subreddits in general showed me that my feelings are somewhat common for trans people. This made me think I’m for sure mtf. When I read the above essay it seems obvious but I still don’t know. Idek why I wrote this all out. I guess I just want validation that people think my story could indicate I’m trans. Thanks to anyone who actually read this haha

2020.09.15 21:36 rageman2Ranking Selena Gomez's Albums
After getting into Selena’s music about a year ago, I found that I really enjoy her whole discography and actually find it pretty underrated! I’m pretty much always in the mood for her songs since they’re so catchy, fun, and danceable. In addition to this, she has a lot of songs (specifically in her last two albums) that are personal for when I’m in my feelings. I get why people may not like her songs, but I think there’s more to her music than people give her credit for. Here’s how I’d personally rank her albums: *6. ’A Year Without Rain’ I’d say this album is her weakest for a few reasons. First of all, it is pretty short, with just ten songs. While this isn’t inherently a bad thing, it doesn’t help that some of her weakest cuts are in this one. ‘Rock God,’ ‘Live Like There’s No Tomorrow,’ ‘Summer’s Not Hot,’ and ‘Spotlight’ (which strangely reminds me of Sisqo’s ‘Thong Song’ idk why) have to be some of my least favorite Selena songs. I don’t think they’re bad at all, but I don’t go back to them very often. However, this album does have some of her best songs, with the eternal bop ‘Round & Round,’ the still-beautiful ‘A Year Without Rain,’ and the wildly underrated bangers ‘Off the Chain’ and ‘Intuition.’ The album is pretty inconsistent and has a very ‘I’m still a Disney star but I want to grow up but I can’t due to my management’ vibe to it, so it comes across as a bit awkward. Still, thanks to its very short length, I think it’s worth checking out. *5. ’Kiss & Tell’ I feel like this album is best described as ‘Avril Lavigne Lite’ or ‘Diet The Best Damn Thing.’ Which is not a bad thing! Following the pop-rock trend of the late-2000s, her debut record (along with her band The Scene) is a time capsule of the era it was made in. There are so many bangers that still get a good response from people (well, from my friends anyway lol) to this day, including ‘Naturally,’ ‘Falling Down,’ and ‘Tell Me Something I Don’t Know.’ Other songs like ‘As a Blonde’ and ‘Stop & Erase’ give off major Avril Lavigne vibes, which is a good thing in my book. Though she has strayed from the genre, Selena does pretty well in the pop-rock lane. However, I’ll be the first to admit that sometimes it sounds like Disney handed her songs and told her to sing. Still, she does her best with the material and her personality comes off as fun and carefree in this album. *4. ’Stars Dance’ Speaking of fun and carefree, this album is the exact definition of that. ‘Stars Dance’ was her first solo album but has been somewhat forgotten since it came out. Maybe it got overshadowed since it came out in 2013 when another Disney star was having their ‘going bad’ moment. People have also generally disliked this album for its lack of personality and generic EDM sound. However, in my opinion, ‘Stars Dance’ is a ridiculously entertaining dance album with bangers from beginning to end. There’s truly not a dull moment, from the screams on ‘Birthday’ (I don’t care what anyone says this song goes OFF) to the insanely catchy ‘Slow Down’ and the very beautiful title track. I can see why people may have been disappointed with this album since it was her first solo venture and didn’t really tell us anything we didn’t know (pun intended) about her, but it’s still a damn fun time when you’re just in the mood to dance. Plus, it’s 2020 and life is miserable so why don’t we just stop acting so high and mighty and forgive this album already and drunkenly dance to ‘Forget Forever.’ *3. ’When the Sun Goes Down’ While I prefer ‘Stars Dance’ to this album, I do think this one is the better album critically speaking. ‘When the Sun Goes Down’ was the last album recorded with The Scene, and it showed a lot of maturity and growth at a time when she was still a Disney star. While it’s still tame enough for children to listen to, the songwriting isn’t quite as juvenile as it was on her first two records. Hell, I remember being scandalized as a kid when I heard her say “damn” in ‘Hit the Lights.’ The album continues the electronic sound that was kinda-barely-somewhat-there on ‘A Year Without Rain,’ and it ends up creating a lot of memorable moments. ‘Bang Bang Bang’ in particular is a standout track (and my second favorite Selena song period) not only for its charmingly sassy attitude but also due to its retro electronic/disco sound. Other standouts include the party anthem ‘When the Sun Goes Down’ and the strange but refreshing ‘Whiplash’ (very fittingly named), which was actually meant for Britney Spears’ album ‘Circus.’ Of her first four albums, this one has the best mix of good songwriting and great beats, which makes for a truly great time throughout. *2. ’Rare’ Her most recent release, ‘Rare’ has received a lukewarm response in general. I don’t quite get some of the criticism it gets as I find it to be a pretty personal album with some of her best songs. ‘Cut You Off’ is a great petty/fuck you anthem, ‘Rare’ is an uplifting feel-good moment, and ‘Crowded Room’ is a genuinely beautiful song with natural chemistry between her and 6LACK. It’s apparent that Selena realized her strength lies in a more hushed delivery (even as a fan I can admit she’s not a strong singer), and this album plays into that. The songs are generally pretty chill and easy to listen to, but they also contribute to an overall story of Selena learning to love herself and move on from a past relationship (I wonder who that could be). Combined with great bonus tracks like ‘Boyfriend’ (I hoe it up to this song unapologetically) and ‘Souvenir’ (it pisses me off how underrated this song is), ‘Rare’ is definitely worth a listen if you haven’t heard it already. I know people’s opinions on the album have been somewhat middling, but I truly think it’s a great pop album that leans into Selena’s strengths. *1. ’Revival’ While I hate to be so predictable, I really don’t think I could’ve put ‘Revival’ in any other spot. This album is when Selena officially transitioned into a fully grown and mature artist, and it remains her best work. Not only did her ‘whisper’ delivery start here, but the songwriting in this album is fantastic. Whether it's an upbeat moment like ‘Me & the Rhythm’ or a sexy and intimate song like ‘Good for You,’ Selena pulls off a wide range of emotions through both the lyrics and her delivery. Since she’s not trying hard to reach the higher notes that her earlier albums had, she has more room to emote and convey pain, happiness, and heartbreak. This album has drawn comparisons to Christina Aguilera’s ‘Stripped,’ and I can certainly see why. The album has deeply personal moments such as ‘Camouflage’ and ‘Sober,’ which show how Selena has way more depth than people give her credit for. The album is also uplifting like ‘Stripped,’ with cuts like ‘Cologne’ and ‘Rise’ being so infectiously positive that they always put me in a better mood. Not only do the songs tell stories through their detail, but this is the first time in her discography that Selena sounds fully confident and in control. This isn’t a collection of songs that Selena is singing, this is her album. She came into her own style with this one, and it remains one of the best pop records of the 2010s (I said what I said). I think people often underestimate Selena’s music. Sure she’s not a great singer and a lot of her early discography could come across as manufactured, but I think she has greatly improved in the last few years. Selena actually reminds me a lot of Hilary Duff. Neither of their music is extremely groundbreaking, but they’re both likable personalities who have made some great pop records. Plus, who says (pun intended again) that all music needs to be deep or complex? A lot of the time, I just want a fun pop song, and that’s what Selena’s early music provides. For the times when I want something a little more personal, then her last two records provide that as well.
2020.09.13 18:24 heejinxhyunjintype of music i would want loona to experiment in their b-sides
hi orbits, how are you doin ? i was listening jaden smith's new album and i then went back to listen to his 2019 album ERYS and i though while listening to "summertime in paris", i would love to hear loona sing a song like, a indie/guitar type ballad with reconforting lyrics and harmonizations. i think it would suit well haseul, hyunjin, vivi, and gowon's voice colors and we could have harmonization combination by lipseul (like in colors) others type of music i would want them to experiment would be : - something like complicated by avril lavigne (or olivia o'brien, both versions are good). as you can see, i love me some slowers songs. probably because i want our ballads queens (haseul and hyunjin) to have more lines but i would love a song like this one - i also would be so happy if they do something like so what by jaden hossler. i think this boy is a tiktoker, i don't even know, i saw the song while searching for so what and i feel in love with the 2000 emo pop rock vibe. i think yeojin and heejin's deep voice will own this track, jinsoul, yves and olivia low register would be god-like on the track and kim lip, chuu and haseul would take the higher part. the bridge could be took my vivi, then with a canon with gowon, then with choerry (god damn i'm thinking hard right now loool) - ungodly hour was AN ALBUM so, i would take anything loona will do who has the same vibe as a chloexhalle track. my favOriTes would be "baby girl" (imagine gowon saying 'do it for the girls" argh my feeling), "don't make it harder on me" (imagine them harmonizing like this), "wonder what she thinks of me" (the song could be about them being sidechicks or being in love with a girl, i would take everyhting cuz these vocals are GOLD) and royal (the lightstick gurls, you need to drop a song like this and it would the perfect late summer bop) this is getting long, sorryyy - i wanna get better by bleachers. this song means the world for me, it helped me while recovering and the lyrics are really something else. while i love against the current version, bleachers version helped me more and it's really unique and i would loona to have a song with that kind of arrangement and those really reconforting lyrics (and a guitar solo hehe) haseul could sing the bridge before the last chorus (since she's recovering from anxiety and it would hopefully be her comeback). to finish, i choose more upbeats songs from Ms. Ariana Grande (i'm not the biggest fan of the person but i love a lot of her songs) and some songs from my UK Queens Little Mix ariana's songs : - NASA : cute song, mix of pop and rnb. i know the vocal lines would EAT this song ; bloodline : c'mon, the beat is so fucking amazing and haseul will slay the whistle note ; GREEDY : we all saw the iconic heejin's fancam and we know she would eat the dance (and the vocals to) but like imagine kim lip, yves, choerry, vivi and hyeju doing this dance. chuu could show the versatility of her voice and jinsoul could finally belt in her non-strained register ; goodnight n go : the vocals, the beat, the happiness, the smile you have on the face after listening to it, the last high notes (imagine kim lip doing them) little mix's songs : - black magic : is there a 2010's girl group song who aged as well as black magic ? no there isn't. vocals ? ✅ every girls would shine ? ✅ highnotes ? shared by chuu, haseul and kim lip (and maybe yves) ; power : empowering song, the music video is beautiful as well. imagine vivi and yeojin spitting bars by doing the rap. the vocals on this song are unmatched (perrie's intro, leighade's pre-chorus, their ad-libs/highnotes) ; joan of arc : a FEMINIST ANTHEM, this song is everything BOSS by 5H wasn't. the "oh so you’re on that feminist type?” ”HELL YEAH I AM" would sent LOONA has the ultimate GIRL POWER group last song, even though i'm not a fan of the character : like that by doja cat. i just can help but love this song. the song screams pink, cotton candy and smell like victoria's secret perfumes. the rappers would eat the verses (i'm talking manly about vivi, gowon, choerry, olivia and yeojin but you can imagine who you want) and the "i like i like like that" at the end are such a chief kiss. this was a long ass rant, i'm sorry. give me your opinions about my choices and listen to the songs if you don't know them. i'm also curious about what type of songs you would want them to do so comments about it, i love to interact (the song can be in any language, i mainly choose english songs, but you can use korean, chinese, japanese, spanish, french songs as you want)

2020.08.30 16:21 gremlin30My review of FOAMF. Thoughts?
Take the money & crawl, aside from that “suck my cock” line, is a genuinely good song. Granted, that line kinda takes a lil away from the song overall, but it’s still catchy AF. The intro especially is awesome. Best song on the album imo. Graffitia- kinda hate it. I know some people really like it, but it’s kind of an obvious I Fought the Law rip-off mixed with cringey Van Halen “Jump” synths. Also overly repetitive imo. Sounds like something you’d see on a Target “Back to School” commercial. FOA has grown on me, it’s really not that bad. I do hate the production though. Oh Yeah was good till the massively underwhelming/anticlimactic chorus. Junkies is ok; not awful but not great. The samples and weird sounds are quite annoying. That’s a running theme in the album. Teenager is musically ok but lyrically is awful. The verses and Mike’s bass line are good, but the production’s painful attempt at making an explosive chorus weakens it a lot. It comes off as generic AF. Sugar youth- not terrible, but terrible lyrics. Instrumentally not bad. Stab you in the heart- catchy, but just a rehash of Fuck Time. Better than fuck time, but disappointing to get a rehash of an old song after waiting for a new album. FRA- catchy instrumental. Ends up sounding like a youtube/Spotify commercial cuz it’s sooo short, even for a Green Day song. Lyrics kinda weak. Meet me on the roof is catchy, but the production makes it super cheesy and not in a good way. If they got rid of all the weird sounds/samples and made it a more stripped down song without all the vocal filters, it would’ve been great. Butch Walker seems like a cool guy, but his forte is pop and Avril Lavigne pop rock. Like him as a person, don’t love his production with Green Day. I know a lot of the production stuff people hate were Billie’s ideas so I’m cutting Butch some slack for that even though Rob Cavallo and Butch Vig were much better producers for Green Day imo.

2020.08.24 14:17 liagasonGet Avril Lavigne to sing "Dolphins"
For those who don't know the story: All popular lyrics websites have a song called "Dolphins" by Avril Lavigne. The thing is that this song does not exist and has never existed. It's something like a joke that started from Tumblr. Petition: I think that the majority of Avril Lavigne fans, including myself, really like dolphins and I'd like the Internet to convince her to sing the song. Lyrics: Dolphins Are u Dolphins Are Me Dolphins Are eveyone that includes you and me They love swimmming with people like you and me Dolphins live in the ocean Dolphins live in the sea Dolphins live in nice clear blue sea They are acompneed by a lot of sea animals We love them you love them I love them Who dosen't like them Give me a D Give me a O Give me a L Give me a P Give me a H Give me a I Give me a N P.S. I also think that the lyrics are close enough to her style.
2020.08.23 07:54 DoctorAltariaCarly Rae Jepsen - some music ~rating~
disclaimers: (1) some of these songs are released, but aren't put into any of her studio albums or eps. (2) i can't confirm if some of these are truly carly rae jepsen's "unreleased music" (but they sound like her, at least). (3) there may be other "unreleased music" that aren't included here. (4) these are only (compiled and) given to me by a friend.
Wildflowers the piano sounds like it's something fresh from her "kiss" album. the bass drop on the hook makes it feel very emotional, or makes it have weight, at least. the beat drop reminds me of taylor's wildest dream music video version. 9.4/10
Sweet Impossible Love the violins sound something so 2009/2010-ish. the instrumentals on the hooks sound so erratic and messed up and it feels like it only works structurally, not harmoniously - at least during my first listen. when you listen to it repeatedly, it becomes more tolerable. the bass makes it have more depth and emotion. i love the background vocals singing "oooh" towards the end. 7.4/10
10, 000 People this sounds so throwback, around 2008. for some reason, the violin string plucking reminds me of sara bareilles and the disc scratching sound effects remind me of fergie, idk why, but the synths on the beat drop after "i feel it" definitely remind me of lady gaga's the fame era. 8.8/10
Black Light when i first heard it, i was like "britney spears???". it's also weird because i could hear madonna's voice hahaha. i love the disco vibe. 8.6/10
Bullseye the instrumentals sound like video game sound effects. i love the melody and the lyrics. it sounds like ellie goulding's "burn". 9/10
Look Me In The Eyes this sounds like something britney spears would sing. this sounds so good. i wish the violins had more part in the song. 9.4/10
Still In The Game it sounds like it could be put into a kids' movie... or whatever kind of movie. either on the intro of the movie or the credits part. this sounds so much like katy perry's "daisies", but i'm pretty sure this song is earlier than "daisies". this sounds so 2010/2011 with those violins. 10/10
Sun On You the hook sounds like an hyper-upbeated "brielle" by sky sailing (sky sailing is essentially adam young aka owl city) and i wouldnt be surprised if this was a supposed collaboration track between carly and adam. 6.8/10
Luck In Love the piano reminds me of an avril lavigne track, idk what. i feel like this song could have a blue-white aesthetic for a music video. the piano at the back definitely reminds me so much of those "free inspiring background music" you can search up on youtube hahahaha. it's an okay track. 8.2/10
Runaways for some reason, this song reminds me of "favourite colour". i love the songwriting so much. this is so hopelessly romantic. this is sooo freakingly emotional. 10/10
White Lie this sounds like a track from dedicated. why isn't this part of any albums?? this sounds so good. 10/10
other than the ones i mentioned, the rest of the songs sound like something i've already heard before - but not in a bad way. i would definitely listen to these songs sometime soon again.
2020.08.15 07:51 BeterGriffinFan123[TOMT] Unknown Love Song played during a "Bolt A.M.V."
I don't expect anyone to find this song with my extremely dense and vacant information but it's worth a try. I remember going on YouTube at 12 a.m. in 2012 and ironically searching up cringy A.M.V.s. Particularity those of the Disney movie "Bolt" that released in 2008. I remember listening to a certain song that I actually kind of liked a lot from watching one of those Bolt AMVs. I don't remember the title of the video and it wasn't a normal AMV of which usually it plays animated scenes from a specific media, but instead it was a picture slideshow of Bolt fan art, particularly fan art of the made up Bolt sequel titled as "Bolt 2" and the slideshow also had O.C.s, shipping and other stereotypical DeviantArt stuff. Being the dumbass that I am, I don't remember the lyrics, well actually I thought I did, it went something like this "Forever at Last, Forever at Last" or "Together at Last, Together at Last" but apparently when I searched them up, nothing shows so I'm pretty sure those are just false memories that my head made up for some reason. The song was a stereotypical 2000's love country/alternative rock/pop rock song sung by a woman, really similar to those of Taylor Swift & Avril Lavigne.

2020.08.05 01:20 swaguilera13BROOKE HYLAND ALBUM REVIEW
SUMMARY: My general summary of this album is that Brooke dabbles with country and pop fusion and does it quite gracefully, at times she sounds comparable to Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, and Avril Lavigne. Her vocals are quite good but this album screams 2006 and because of that this album was shoved under the rug when it shouldn't have. The emotion is quite raw but gets lost in the repetition in her songs . TRACK BREAKDOWN: 1. Let's Stop Pretending - This song is okay, the lyrics are pretty generic but it introduces the listener to the type of country pop fusion that is in store for the album. 5.6/10
I Hurt - Definitely one of the better songs on the album due to her vulnerable raw lyrics . This song sounds a lot like Complicated by Avril Lavigne. This song really reveals who Brooke is and how she can dance through pain literally and figuratively. 6.8/10
Wonder - A great song that sounds like the early work of Carrie Underwood. Brooke captures the listener with a catchy cadence and the lyrics describe her trying to grab her crush's attention and how she doesn't know if the feeling is reciprocated which makes the lyrics interesting and relatable. 6.8/10
You're The Only One - As Brooke describes her deep love for her faith and how no other can trump her love for God which is an inspirational religious song with moving lyrics. 5.9/10
You Can't Hurt Me - This is one of the few tracks that alludes to the relationship between the Dance Mom's star and her dance coach Abby Lee Miller and describes that while Abby "carries so much hate", Brooke will continue to "carry on." The lyrics on this track are raw and insightful, but get lost in all the repetition in the song. 6/10
Mean To Me - Mean To Me is the best track on the album due to the lyrics and punk vibe of the song. Along with a playful video with an Abby Lee impersonator, this song is a great time all around. 7/10
Without You - Yet another dig at Abby where Brooke describes how she can make it without the help of her discouraging dance teacher. This song is pretty forgetful and after You Can't Hurt Me it feels like the listener has heard this song before. 5.8/10
I'm Over You - For the third and final song about Abby there is once again not much to be desired as the message was stronger in You Can't Hurt Me. 5.8/10
What About Love ft. Have2Have - The worst part of this song is the featured artists as they don't bring a lot except for screaming into the microphone. Without them, this song is quite catchy and Brooke puts on a great vocal performance and shows that she is a talented pop singer. 6.5/10
Summer Love - The summer anthem featured in Dance Moms is a great pop record that makes the listener want to get up and dance and has a catchy beat with and fun lyrics. 6.9/10
Lol I hope y'all enjoyed this. I'm not a professional music critic by any means but if y'all want me to review any other DM related music let me know.
2020.08.03 02:44 melmuddledTaylor has a way of making nearly anyone become intrigued by her...
At what point do you call yourself a fan? How many of you here started as either not caring about her or disliked her? I remember back in my early years of beginning high school Taylor was just coming out with her first album. I heard Tear Drops on My Guitar on a playlist my friend was playing when we were over. I wasn't a huge country fan, I liked some but it wasnt my go to, I was more into Avril Lavigne. The years went by and I heard a few of her songs on the radio, borrowed some of her CDs from the library but again it wasn't my most favorite, but it wasn't bad. Fast forward to adult life in 2014, you were always hearing about her that year and when her new album came out, I decided to listen to it because I was curious to her transformation to pop. Ever since 2014 I've had a love hate relationships with her music and her personality. There's something so fascinating about the way she writes but then other songs are a total miss for me and seem petty (bad blood gave me a bad taste). It wasn't necessarily what was in the news that put me off, Kimye are detestable, but it was the immature way Taylor could act sometimes and still does sometimes (I'm sorry if that offends the fandom here but she isn't always golden in how she handles things). However I think she has shown a tremendous amount of growth the last few years for the most part. I've now listened to every album, watched all videos from 1989 onwards and get sucked into this Easter egg hunt because I adore puzzles and numerology. Folklore blew my socks off! I listen to nearly every kind of music but folk music holds a special place in my heart as does lyrical genius. Reputation would be my next on the list of ones I like but Folklore is incredible. What I really came here to say is I find it absolutely amazing how someone can make people so intrigued. She isn't even my favourite artist but because of the way she created these mysteries and stories in her art I've put more dedication in watching what she puts out than any other artist even if her music isn't my favorite (except folklore). The way she can make people outside of her dedicated fandom still wanting to see what is next and decipher her stories is outstanding. I also want to give you guys kudos, I tried looking at other reddit subs of similar artists in popularity right now and this one is by far the most engaged and interesting. High five to you guys 🤗 I do have a few questions: Do you guys actually enjoy all of the merchandise she puts out? Sometimes it seems like a money grab and especially because of Covid it would be hard for all of you to buy all editions of her CDs or merchandise, I think she could have toned that down a bit this time or maybe put out bundles? But you guys are the knowledgeable ones here so maybe you don't feel that way? Taylor mentioned in an interview that "cancel culture" brought her down really low (I watched the documentary too....like I said...she MAKES you want to watch) but I find many swifties do cancel culture on other people deemed to be her enemies and although scooter isn't a wonderful person, I don't think he or really anyone deserves to get that kind of hate so I'm disappointed that her fans would do it back even though she said she hates that Taylor is turning 31 this year which is the reverse of 13 which that April 27 post and the July 24 release does equal thirteen but it also equals 31 🤔 told you I liked these puzzles! Sorry if this was so long
2020.07.31 22:25 YuINOPECringe review for the first Ramones album on Amazon (hopefully a troll)
Good evening ladies and gents! I love punk rawk to the fullest... my favorites include Avril Lavigne, Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, New Found Glory, Blink 182, and NOFX... but lately I've noticed a huge following of the so called "70s punk movement"... get lost people! Punk began in 1999 when Carson Daly played "what's my age again" on TRL. Before that..... punk was in an underground form defined by the GODS, Green Day and Offspring. Now on to this Ramones band... what's the hype people? They sound like another garbage pop punk band...how are they in any way important to the history of music? The guitarists can't write a catchy riff to save his life... and the lyrics sound like something a Sesame Street kid would have written! This Ramones band will never make it big on MTV with their nasty long hair and leather jackets... peace out folks! For historic punk rawk albums check out "Dookie" by Green Day and "Smash" by Offspring... before that Punk was non-existant!
2020.07.31 16:04 ND_PCTotal Madness Player Playlists: Cory Wharton
Happy Friday, and welcome to the latest installment in my Player Playlist tribute series for Total Madness! The Cory playlist is listed in a table at the bottom of this post. As a reminder, I've set out to create a tribute playlist for each player on the show. Using around 25 songs apiece, I try to capture the player's narrative, personality, and profile based on the songs' lyrics, moods, or even just their titles. Since this is my first season doing this, I'm trying my best to include the earlier portion of a player's career if that player is a vet, with a focus on Total Madness towards the end of the list. I'm releasing the playlists on Monday/Wednesday/Friday in reverse of the finishing order shown to us by MTV, so Cory's is my propreantepenultimate list, a word I just learned by Googling "word that means fourth from last." (Edit: and I was wrong! This is actually just the preantepenultimate list, not the propreantepenultimate one. Thank goodness.) Next week I'll release playlists for Kyle, Bananas, and Jenny! The Cory list is here! Cory is a man that MTV has decided is made for MTV. He's had quite the career, until this season when it all came to a screeching halt because of his daughter, Ryder. Did you guys know Cory has a daughter? I think that's about all he has at this point, so the last good chunk of my playlist is devoted to songs about daughters. RIP the rest of Cory's personality, because Ryder was his defining characteristic this season. Luckily, Cory gave a ton of material in his previous Challenge seasons from which to build a good playlist. Actually, something that contributed greatly to the process of building Cory's playlist was looking at songs that MTV used during some Cory scenes on the show. I'd say close half the songs on the playlist were actually used at some point by MTV during a scene that prominently featured Cory. So, what did I include aside from Cory's daughter, Ryder? (Did you guys know Cory had a daughter?) Well, I touched on his reputation as a player (which is a misogynistic double standard that MTV completely celebrates), his hit list, and his pasta incident. I tried to capture his friendship with Nelson, too. The songs from the show's soundtrack are usually from scenes where he is competing or hooking up, so I let those songs fill out the playlist to represent Cory's competitive and social games. I tried to include his valiant comeback from numerous injuries, too. I think what I wound up with is a pretty good picture of Cory - a former all-around good player who tried his best to rally Team Young Buck and take The Challenge by storm until his daughter, Ryder, gave him a higher purpose. As always, I appreciate any comments or questions you might have about this playlist, as well as any suggestions of songs that might make it better. If you have any Johnny, Jenny, or Kyle songs that could work, I would love to hear those too! It's been a blast making these playlists and it's weird to think this season's playlist series will all be over in a week. For the rest of my Total Madness playlists, click here: Asaf, Jenn, CT, Ashley, Jay, Tori, Jordan, Bear, Big T, Kailah, Jenna, Wes, Mattie, Swaggy, Nany, Aneesa, Josh, Dee, Nelson, Melissa, Rogan, Bayleigh, Kaycee, Fessy. 2020.07.30 03:54 CatBones13[TOMT][SONG][2000s] a pop song i cant remember the lyrics like "open your eyes" "no one else can ...." i'll include rough melody.
basically i think the "open you're eyes" is just before the chorus and the chorus is "no one else..." then saying things that no one else can do. i'm probably confusing they lyrics with other songs too so they could be different. i feel like the genre is kinda like the song 'a thousand miles' or 'taylor swift' or 'avril lavigne' (its not losing grip) it also could be a male singer but i dont think it is. rough melody
